Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
(AIDS) is a degenerative infectious disease that affects the immune system of
the patient. As a result there will be comorbidity due to other diseases,
eventually leading to mortality. Clinical
investigations play a significant role in tracking the virus and for the
development of diagnostic and therapeutic tools and techniques. AIDS and
clinical research include studies on virology, pathology, immunology and
the molecular biology. HIV/AIDS is one of the major causes for death globally with
huge social and economic implications.
